Cranemaster®'s Role in the He Dreiht Wind Farm Project

We are proud to announce Cranemaster’s critical role in supporting Heerema Marine Contractors during the installation of 64 monopile foundations at EnBW’s 960 MW He Dreiht offshore wind farm. Our Cranemaster shock absorbers, with a combined Safe Working Load (SWL) of 1400 tons, played a vital part in managing the risks during pile installation, particularly pile run events during pile driving and hammer stabbing.

HEEREMA’S ADVANCED VESSEL AND MONOPILE INSTALLATION

Using their impressive semi-submersible crane vessel Thialf, Heerema is driving the 70-meter-long monopiles into the seabed. During the pile driving, unstable soil conditions can cause sudden dropfall, where the monopiles unexpectedly and abruptly slip deeper into the seabed, creating dynamic forces detrimental to the crane and rigging.
